Director, Figure Drawing

We’re finally making it happen! The Figure Drawing project started in October 2023 with some devising workshops in my apartment, which turned into a six-person, ten-session writing workshop, followed by a break, then a few months of re-drafting. A few weeks ago, some people gathered in my grandparents’ backyard for a reading of the play, and now we’re mounting a full production!

The play follows several narrative threads. Some old guys mourn the death of a friend, a young woman falls in love, a painter tries to get out of a slump, and a photographer is fascinated by a young man in a park. The play explores some of the odd problems to do with what it means to look at something with another person.

You can come see it at Color Club Chicago, a beautiful gallery space on Elston Ave, on August 2 and 3.
